Solo performance for the Musical Arts Society featuring Brahms' Variations and Fugue on a Theme of Handel, op.24, a piece that Brahms described as his "Lieblingswerk," (favorite work).

It was popularized in the nineteenth century by Clara Schumann, and when the progressive zealot Wagner heard this conservative but supremely creative music, he was said to remark, "One sees what still may be done in the old forms when someone comes along who knows how to use them."

This concert is for Musical Arts Society members.
